Pastor's Pen
Our Scripture this Sunday comes to us from Romans 5:1-5 and reads as follows:
“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace [ with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” (NLT)
Here are three more passages to read for Hope: >br>Psalm 130:5: "I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word."
Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the pla ns I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Romans 8:24-25: "For in this hope we were saved. And now we see with unveiled face, as in a mirror, as clear as crystal, the mystery of the times and the end times, which God has prepared for our benefit."
Our God gives us the hope we need to keep moving forward. As we remember Faith, Hope, and Love we should never forget the immeasurable work that God has done for us. This finished work is what gives all of humanity Hope.
